Food scarcity in Japan Supermarket

The aftermath of the earthquake in Japan has triggered a nuclear power plant meltdown (Fukushima Dai-ichi plan) due to damage caused to the nuclear power reactors leading to explosions in the plant. For fear of radiation leakage, the power systems were shut down but that hasn’t helped much as the radioactive leakage is confirmed and Japan government has issued warnings ordering people in the neighboring region to evacuate.
It’s said that 76,000 buildings had damaged with about 6,300 buildings collapsed. 440,000 people have been evacuated from these regions and hundreds are still isolated battling food and water scarcity. The evacuees are at present living in school shelters or other make-shift arrangements Miyagi prefecture alone has reported a death toll of thousands with many more missing.
