Cebu Pacific, a local airline catch the attention of millions on youtube when video of attendants giving pre-flight seatbelt and life vest demostration. The ladies on the video are flight attendants dancing to Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” and Katy Perry’s “California Girls”.
The company added that passenger safety remains their primary concern.
The whole idea is to get the safety message across, if it gets people to actually pay attention to the safety announcement, then that is a good thing.
According to it’s VP for marketing, the cabin crew’s dance routine was meant to “make people interested, showcase homegrown talent and raise morale.”
Wow, and we Malaysian can do the same but with our cultural dance routine.

A video of them — doing a pretakeoff safety demonstration that was posted on YouTube on Sept. 30 — has drawn more than 7 million hits. It’s been covered by USA TODAY’s Today in the Skyblog, CNN and Fox News. And it’s generating publicity for the airline as it seeks as much as $580 million in the Philippines’ largest initial public offering in five years.
Airlines have previously used gimmicks to liven up preflight safety announcements and draw publicity.
A Southwest Airlines flight attendant rapping a preflight announcement was also posted on YouTube. Air New Zealand has made flight-safety videos featuring crew in painted-on uniforms and another with international rugby players.
Cebu Pacific Air regularly runs games and competitions during flights to entertain passengers.
Candice Iyog, vice President of Marketing at Cebu Pacific Airlines, said: “Cebu Pacific has always been known as a fun airline, we wanted to get the message across to our customers that flight safety doesn’t have to be boring.
